La|no|stan [lat. lana = Wolle; ↑ -stan], das; -s, -e; Syn.: 4,4,14-Trimethyl-5α-cholestan: gesättigter, tetracycl. Kohlenwasserstoff C30H54 mit einer Dimethylhexanseitenkette u. fünf z. T. angulären CH3-Gruppen. L. bildet das Grundgerüst des Lanosterins u. verwandter Triterpene.
